Watercolour Circles

Would you like to participate in nourishing creative processes that help you cope with stress and improve the quality of your life?

Taking the time to look after your own well-being can often take a backseat to other priorities.  The stress of juggling family responsibilities, work commitments or other issues can often take its toll.

Yet self-care is essential if we are to function effectively in the world. Our well-being is important because it provides us with feelings of happiness, engagement, curiosity and contentment.  Without it, life can feel like a struggle.

The Women’s Wellness Circle is a 4 week program for women (4 x 2 hour sessions) who are interested in exploring creative processes as a means of enhancing their own health and well-being.

When women come together to share their journey in creative ways, it creates a special kind of heartfelt energy.  We make room for honest sharing and deep listening, as well as laughter and sometimes tears.  The Wellness Circle is a time of support, learning and fun, as well as a process of healing and restoration.

You are warmly welcomed to join a small group of like-minded wonderful women as we use art therapy, meditation and creative self-expression as a pathway to personal wellness and greater vitality.

There’ll be lots of different art media to engage your imagination, including pastels, paint, collage and clay.  You’ll be supported to make marks, experiment, take risks and develop your self-confidence.

Participating in a Women’s Wellness Circle can be one of the most nurturing and empowering ways to support your own well-being.   Creative self-expression can help you to:

  • Learn to monitor and manage your stress in positive ways
  • Increase self-awareness so you can understand your thoughts and feelings
  • Reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety and increase your quality of life
  • See your life from a different perspective so that you consider new choices

No art making experience is necessary to benefit from this program!

The most useful thing for me was the opportunity to be part of such a safe and encouraging group.  I liked exploring my life alongside others.   (Lucy)

I was really glad to be part of this program.  It was such a positive experience!    (Sandra)

The most significant thing for me was realising the benefits of being more creative.  Making time just for me and to do the things that I enjoy is vital to helping me feel good.       (Maureen)

But I’m not an artist!  That’s ok.  You don’t need to be.  All you need is willingness to have a go.

You have permission to be a beginner.  Many adults come to art making with some degree of apprehension.  That’s normal.  I provide lots of playful and fun opportunities to experiment and explore the art materials so you can discover how they work.  This helps put your fears to rest.

I haven’t had cancer.  Can I still attend this group?  Yes, any woman who has is interested in exploring well-being through creativity is most welcome.

To foster safety and respect, I encourage an environment of confidentiality where we support each person’s right to privacy.
